The Apartment Movers, Inc. uses Independent Contractor Movers to perform moving services.

Qualified candidate must be able to effectively recruit, orient, manage and dispatch a fleet of Independent Contract Movers, with continuous focus on exceptional customer service and satisfaction, as well as equipment and personnel productivity within a safe and compliant Intrastate Non-CDL operation. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team environment as well as with our locations in other cities.

Dispatch Service Manager Summary Description
The Service and Dispatch Manager receives, stores, issues supplies, equipment, and materials; determines sources of supplies; interviews Independent Contract Movers; recruits, orients, and dispatches Independent Contract Movers to perform local and Intrastate Non-CDL goods, maintains inventory of records and performs a wide range of administrative activities related to marketing and promotion of services, staffing and personnel operations and performs immediate supervision of key support staff.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Develop and maintain relationships with Independent Contract Movers and focus on superior customer service at all times.
2. Manage daily dispatch operations of Independent Contract Movers.
3. Proactively engages the customer to resolve scheduling conflicts.
4. During peak sales hours, the Service and Dispatch Manager will perform sales functions as required.
5. Maintain high level of productivity of equipment and personnel.
6. Ensure Independent Contract Movers compliance with company procedures and policies.
7. Must enforce safety policy.
8. Provide accurate detailed information to Independent Contractor Movers on job details.
9. Manage exceptions, last minute changes, emergency loads, etc.
10. Maintain real-time dispatch status updates for all moves.
11. Document any issues that may lead to corrective actions and make recommendation of those actions.
12. Provide performance reviews for Independent Contract Movers and document accordingly.
13. Directs and participates in the development and implementation of location goals and objectives.
14. Must perform a daily fleet inspection of all dispatched vehicles and trailers, monthly fleet inspection report and either perform fleet upkeep which will be contacted and paid.
15. Responsible for handling all local damages by visiting the customer who has suffered damages, taking pictures, filling out reports, and working with the Dallas Damages Manager to get the claim settled.
16. Responsible for handling all on-site quotation and sales by visiting the customer who has an on-site quote, reviewing inventory, and quoting a price for the move.
17. Coordinates moves to be performed by Independent Contractor Movers, orients Independent Contractor Movers in company policy and job duties; ensures safety compliance of Independent Contractor Movers, record-keeping, security procedures and practices;
18. Evaluates contractors work performance, initiates Independent Contractor Movers actions such as recruitment, selection, de-selection, resolves contractor grievances, interprets and disseminates company policy to Independent Contract Movers, investigates customer complaints and attempts to resolve problems to restore and promote good public relations.
19. Acts as a liaison between the Independent Contractor Movers and the City Manager
20. Prepares inventory reports and places order requests for parts and supplies.
21. Prepares daily deposits and ensures all funds are accounted for in the company bank account.
22. Informs Director of Operations of aberrations in company policy
23. Responsible for the completion of all the moves scheduled for dispatch by use of Independent Contractor Movers.
24. Directly responsible for the completion of moves sold on the same day of the move date.
25. Conducts any task given by City Manager that would benefit the company.
26. Must be available via cellular phone during business hours.
27. Must be in the office during dispatch hours (6:00am-9:00am) 6 days per week.
28. Schedules sufficient moving crews to complete all scheduled and unscheduled moves.

• Minimum of 3+ years dispatching or logistics experience
• Excellent Computer Skills- Microsoft Office 2010
• Proven history of job stability and success
• Must be highly organized, efficient and detailed
• Excellent customer service and retention
• Excellent public relations
• Capable of solving operational issues or problems with defined solutions
